Questions About the Mideast Journal
What is the Mideast Journal’s mission?
The Mideast Journal provides fact-first coverage of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people. We carefully curate research-based explainer articles that cover both the ongoing violence in the region (such as the Israel-Hamas war of 2023) as well as the wider context around said violence.
What topics does the Mideast Journal cover?
The Middle East Conflict is a broad topic that covers a variety of subject matter. The focus of the Mideast Journal is to hone in on the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people by providing coverage laden with annotation via links to highly reputable sources. These topics include developing stories related to Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, and the like. At the same time, in order to provide proper contextual understanding this publication will also release fact-first coverage of the historical events leading up to the current situation on the ground as well as coverage related to other developments in the region that directly impact and play a role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
How does the Mideast Journal ensure it offers factual information?
Our editorial process relies heavily on both multiple reviews of any content that is produced and on link-based research. We are committed to only releasing content with enough verifiable evidence from authoritative sources that has been meticulously annotated. Our guidelines call for all claims within an explainer article to be supported directly by links to a diverse set of authoritative sources with no one source, particularly those based of the region itself, being relied on too heavily.
Where can I submit a correction to the Mideast Journal?
As part of providing the most accurate and fact-forward information based on staunch link-based annotation possible, we have a dedicated channel to receive corrections from the wider public. You can submit corrections to editor@mideastjournal.org. We ask that you please submit the link to the article in question along with sources backing the correction. Submissions may be anonymous.
